Tata Kite compact sedan spotted on test in Pune

We showed you a picture of Tata Kite's new compact hatchback yesterday, and today we have a picture of the compact sedan which was spied testing in Pune. The sedan is set to replace the Indigo eCS vehicle and the revised hatchback will replace the Indica eV2 car by either end of next year or early 2016.
Just like the compact hatchback, the sedan is also expected to be heavily revamped sporting a new look. From the photos not many details can be gauged but we can expect new tail lamps, a redesigned bumper and a roofline that gives the car a look of a notchback. Since this prototype is still in the preliminary stages of testing, it is too early to comment what all features might make it to the production version. However, we can expect the company to equip the vehicle with many new features and use high quality material in the interior.

Both the compact sedan and the hatchback will be available in petrol and diesel engine options. Reports suggest that Tata Motors might power the new cars with a new three-cylinder petrol motor and a diesel engine. While the engines will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission, we can also expect the AMT gearbox to be offered.
Tata is following this process of replacing their age old cars under a project name and have tasted a fair bit of success. The Zest and Bolt were codenamed as 'Falcon' when they were on test earlier this year. The Zest is available in the market and is enjoying a good demand, whereas the Bolt hatchback will also be launched soon. The new sedan and hatchback will be placed below the Zest and Bolt respectively, and are expected to offer a good value for money for consumers on a budget.
